We are splitting up. How this will affect you.

That's right, we are splitting up! No need to worry—my husband and I are doing well. However, we are making some exciting changes to The Two Acre Homestead. As we’ve journeyed together, we’ve encountered a point where we decided to create a spinoff. Over time, we’ve hit an algorithm wall and noticed a confusion among our audience regarding our content.

To enhance our efforts and create more engaging content, we are thrilled to announce the launch of a new website and YouTube channel: Sage Oak Homestead. This new platform will be entirely dedicated to following our lives on a personal level, by providing vlog style content discussing everything from gardening, cooking, and homesteading.

On the website, sageoakhomestead.com you will find our recipes, gardening ideas, dreams, and all around homestead content there.

What This Means for The Two Acre Homestead

Now, you might be wondering what happens to The Two Acre Homestead. Fear not! The podcast is making a triumphant return! We are excited to bring back our beloved podcast on Friday, March 14. As we finalize our recordings for the 2025 season, we can’t wait to share fresh content that caters to your homesteading interests.

While the podcast continues to thrive, the YouTube channel for The Two Acre Homestead will now focus solely on podcast content. The blog and newsletter that you know and love will remain, however the blog and newsletter will be about the podcast only, such as upcoming topics for the podcast, breaks that we may take, and highlighting sponsors of the show.

A New Chapter

While most of you know we have moved from Arizona to Michigan, we don't mention the size of our new property as much. Our new home sits on 13 acres. This has made us question if we should change the name. We chose not to. However splitting the brand in two, will allow us to focus on The Two Acre Homestead as a podcast, and in keeping with our original thought that you CAN homestead on small acreage.

By concentrating our focus on The Two Acre Homestead as our brand, and Sage Oak Homestead focusing on our personal lives, we aim to create a more engaging experience. Our content will be curated for those eager to learn about best practices in gardening, cooking, homesteading and more. This approach not only reduces the confusion of overlapping subjects but also allows us to connect more deeply with gardening enthusiasts.

Simplifying Our Production Process

You might be curious why we chose to separate our content and how this benefits you. This decision was not made lightly. We believe it is essential for our growth—and yours! By simplifying our production process, we can devote more time to crafting valuable content that resonates with our audience’s interests.

This means we can enhance the quality of our material by focusing on two distinct areas: The Two Acre Homestead, covering broader homesteading topics and Sage Oak Homestead is more of a personal vlog.

For our loyal listeners and readers, we assure you that both platforms remain committed to providing valuable and relevant content. Our newfound focus allows us to explore subjects in depth and deliver actionable insights tailored to your interests, be it gardening tips or general homesteading advice.

Moving Forward with Clarity

While we may be parting ways with our content into two focused areas, we are immensely excited about the experiences that lie ahead.

Thank you for being part of The Two Acre Homestead. We are excited to share our love for gardening and homesteading with you, and we hope you find a home in both our content spaces! Cheers to gardening, cooking, and the joys of homesteading!
